Our apartment house is situated in a quiet hillside location in Hochsteg, at about 1.5 kilometres from Mayrhofen. The impressive Tuxerklamm and the ‘Blue Lagoon’ of Zemmschlucht canyon are just a few steps away from your holiday home. Right behind the house, the impressive hiking trail through an old beech and lime forest leads you all the way to the top of small mount ‘Glocke’. With the public bus you will reach the gondola stations of Finkenberger Almbahnen or Penkenbahn in around 10 minutes time. Because the next bakery and supermarket are in Mayrhofen, you should get all your grocery shopping done, before checking into your apartment. There´s also a basic restaurant just around the corner of your place. The ‘Blue Lagoon’ in particular is an insider tip for nature lovers in summer. Follow the path into the gorge and treat yourself to a dip in the crystal-clear glacier water. Or hike through the old beech and lime forest to the top of Glocke mountain, follow the Leonhard-Stock path to the impressive waterfalls and keep walking to Gasthaus Zimmereben. Around Mayrhofen, the Zillertal and numerous side valleys, there are countless bike tours and hike trails waiting to be discovered. You can also rather take it easy and go up with the gondola to enjoy the adventure playgrounds with the whole family at 2,000 metres above the sea. The free ski bus takes you to the Finkenberger Almbahnen or the Penken and Ahornbahn lifts in Mayrhofen in about 10 minutes time. The ski areas of Mayrhofen and Finkenberg are connected. Together with the Rastkogel and Eggalm lifts, they build a gigantic ski resort and you will find everything your heart desires: easy beginners' slopes, fun family runs and challenging racing pistes. Rustic mountain huts invite to take a break with Tyrolean delicacies. Après-ski fans will always find an umbrella bar to celebrate life. And even as a non-skier, you can always hop on the gondola and wander along the winter hiking tracks of Penken and Ahorn.
